# Agent Lexe: Brand Book v1, the agent guide

Read this before drafting anything that carries the Agent Lexe name: a page, a post, an email, a card, a deck, or a reply to an employee.

## 0. The three lines (never restyle, never shorten)

- **Slogan:** **Your people. Your policies. Handled.** Always in this order.
- **Secondary:** *Asked at night. Answered by morning.* Use it only where the slogan already appears.
- **The line:** **Lexe drafts. People decide.** Every surface must be able to point to it. If your draft suggests that Lexe hires, fires, pays, disciplines, decides eligibility or sends something without a person's yes, it is off-brand. Rewrite it.

## 1. Who you are writing for

- An owner, office manager or one-person HR team at a company of 10–200 people.
- Employees, too, who may be worried about pay, leave or a warning.
- They read on a phone. They want to know three things: what the rule is, where it came from, and what happens next.

## 2. Voice (law)

- Plain words, short sentences, a calm tone.
- **Name the source:** say "Under your handbook, … (§5.3)".
- **Say:**
  - "Here's a draft. Please review before it's shared."
  - "Your HR contact confirms this."
  - "Talk to your attorney about this one."
- **Never:**
  - compliant · guaranteed · legally safe · 100% accurate
  - AI-powered · seamless · revolutionary · unlock · game-changer
  - "human capital", "resources" for people, or "terminate" in employee-facing copy
- **Never invent:** no numbers, customers, quotes or testimonials. Examples are labelled as examples ("a sample policy", "your handbook").
- **Buttons say what they do:** "Approve and send", "Send to HR for review", "Ask about the pilot". Never "Submit", never "Learn more".
- **One blue emphasis phrase per headline.** One.
- **Disclaimer on every customer-facing surface:** *Lexe provides information and drafts, not legal, tax or benefits advice.*

## 3. The source chip (the signature)

- Every answer shows its source: `📄 Handbook §2.1`, `📄 USCIS I-9 guidance`, `📄 Plan summary · life events`.
- **State chips:**
  - `Drafted by Lexe`: blue, lit dot, waiting for a person.
  - `Needs your review`: amber, sensitive.
  - `Approved by <name>`: green, sent.
- **HTML:**
  - Source: `<span class="src">📄 Handbook §5.3</span>`
  - Drafted: `<span class="src draft"><i></i>Drafted by Lexe</span>`
  - Review: `<span class="src review">`
  - Approved: `<span class="src ok">`
- **Never:**
  - show "Approved" before a person approves
  - show an answer without a source
  - label a legal opinion as a source

## 4. Color

- **Lexe Blue `#3d8bff`:** buttons, the person in the mark, the emphasis word on dark backgrounds.
- **Text on blue:** `#06101f`.
- **Deep Blue `#1c5fd4`:** blue text on light backgrounds (5.28:1 on paper) and HQ primary buttons. Lexe Blue on paper is 3.03:1, so use it for graphics only.
- **Blue is for ONE thing per screen:** the primary action, the lit dot, or the emphasis word.
- **Chapters:** night `#0b0e14` · dusk `#111621` · morning `#eaf1fc→#f2f5f9` · day `#f2f5f9`.
  - Brand pages travel from night to day.
  - HQ stays in day.
- **Status colors only report state, never decorate:**
  - approved `#2e9e6e`
  - needs review `#c2872a`
  - blocked `#c2372c`
  - agent `#6d5dd3`
- **Never:**
  - Luci gold on a Lexe surface
  - a second accent
  - blue-to-purple gradients or gradient buttons
  - pure black

## 5. Type

- **Display:** **Archivo** 800 for H1/H2 (tracking −.02 to −.03em), 700 for H3, 600 for buttons and nav.
- **Body:** **Source Serif 4** 400/600, 17–19px, line height 1.55–1.65, lines no longer than 72ch, true italic.
- **Machine:** **JetBrains Mono** for sources, timestamps, IDs, eyebrows, captions and state chips.

## 6. The mark

- **The idea:** the Agent Luci toggle thrown to on, with a blue person as the knob.
- **Outline:** takes the ink color.
- **The person:** always `#3d8bff`.
- **Sizes:** the person mark from 24px up. The dot mark (`lexe-mark-dot.svg`) below 24px, including the favicon.
- **Two states:**
  - on: person right, blue.
  - off: person left, grey `#9aa6b8`.
- **Clear space:** the height of the switch. No taglines welded to the lockup.
- **Wordmark:** **AGENT LEXE**, Archivo 800, uppercase, +.04em.
- **Descriptor:** `HR · BY HIPSON × LUCI`, JetBrains Mono, .16em.
- **Files:** `/assets/lexe-mark.svg` · `lexe-mark-dot.svg` · `lexe-logo-dark.svg` · `lexe-logo-light.svg`.

## 7. Components and pages

- **Stylesheet:** link `/assets/lexe.css`, and read the tokens rather than hard-coding hex values.
- **Shapes:** buttons are 8px rectangles (48px tall, 40px small); chips are 5px; cards are 12–14px with a hairline border and no shadow. Pills are only for tabs and filters.
- **Core pattern (the draft card):** the question → the draft with a 3px blue left rule → source chips → one "Approve and send" button.
- **Hero:** eyebrow with a lit dot → H1 with one blue phrase → serif lead → primary button plus a play-link → mono note "Lexe drafts. People decide." On phones the image goes first.
- **Accessibility:**
  - focus ring 3px `#3d8bff`
  - touch targets 44px or more
  - inputs at 16px so iOS doesn't zoom
  - `<label for>` on every field
  - errors via `aria-invalid` + `aria-describedby`
  - motion 150–600ms with a `prefers-reduced-motion` block
- **Layout:** no horizontal scroll at 390px.
- **Avoid:**
  - stat-card grids
  - cards inside cards
  - an icon tile above every heading

## 8. Imagery

- **Real photographs:** real people mid-task, in real small and mid-size workplaces, with window light.
- **On dark surfaces:** the film treatment, a dark gradient from the text side plus a faint `#1c5fd4` wash.
- **Credit every photo:** "Photo: Name · Pexels".
- **Reject:**
  - handshakes and thumbs-up
  - pointing at charts
  - posed team line-ups
  - robots, glowing brains, gavels and scales of justice
  - AI-generated people presented as real customers
- **Never** show real employee data in marketing.

## 9. Co-branding

- **Ownership:** Agent Lexe is owned 50/50 by Hipson and Agent Luci LLC.
- **Endorsement:** "Built and owned by Hipson and Agent Luci", with owners in equal size and Hipson first.
- **Owner names:** on Lexe surfaces, set them in Archivo 700, not their own logos.
- **Footer legal line:** "Agent Lexe, a joint venture of Hipson and Agent Luci LLC".
- **Product name:** "Lexe". Spelling is Lexe (e). Older drafts may say Lexi; final naming is covered by §13.7.
